Cactus & Tropicals, Draper Utah | Ashley & Derec Wedding

Derec and Ashley’s wedding was a blast!

They got married at Cactus and Tropicals in Draper, Utah which is a beautiful venue that makes it feel like summer inside.

Their ceremony was beautiful. When Derec saw Ashley for the first time was so special. He teared up when he saw her. Ashley couldn’t stop smiling when she saw him!

The toasts were fun to listen to. Ashley’s mom wrote a cute poem about Ashley and Derec. It was fun to hear more about them and the great people they are.

The first dance was short and sweet and very cute. I loved when Derec danced with his mom and they watched a little slideshow of when Derec was young while they danced. It was very sweet!

Ashley’s wedding dress was so gorgeous! I loved the lace detail on her dress. She looked so beautiful! I also loved Derec’s suit. He had it custom made and embroidered Ashley’s initials, his late brother’s initials and their names on it. It was so cool. I also loved that it was green.

I love their decorations. On one table, they had pictures of those who lived in memory. It was very special. I also loved their sign in wood plaque. I have never seen that before!

Their cupcake cake was so cute and the cupcakes were so yummy!

After we took pictures, had toasts and ate dinner, it was time to DANCE! The best thing about their dance party was that Derec and Ashley both love to dance and they were on the dance floor the whole time. I loved it! Their friends were also a blast and danced the whole time. It was so much fun to watch them and take their pictures. They had a money dance at the beginning and raised a good chunk of money for their honeymoon. The whole night was so fun!

Congratulations Ashley and Derec!

Draper Temple & Le Jardin, Utah | Whitney & Cody Wedding

Whitney and Cody’s wedding was wonderful! Whitney really wanted a sunny day with fresh snow and she got it! It started out with a crazy blizzard but it cleared up and it was a perfect day with blue skies– just in time! Whitney and Cody came out of those temple doors on cloud nine. They greeted their family and friends then we started to take pictures but Cody went missing. Haha. He went back into the temple to get something. I thought it was odd timing, but he told me later that he accidentally left his wedding ring inside the bathroom. It wasn’t in there so he and a temple worker had to go on a hunt for it and finally found it in lost and found. I’m glad he found it! After that, we took pictures with their family and friends. It was so cold outside, but everyone were troopers. We warmed up a bit inside before going out to take formals. Whitney’s sister and her husband came with us (whose wedding I shot the month before) so it was so fun to see them again! We had fun taking pictures of course and Whitney did great even though she was freezing!

Their reception was at Le Jardin in Sandy, Utah. It is a gorgeous place for a reception! Some of my favorite things at the reception were:

  • They had ice cream from Leatherby’s served in waffle cones with a choice of every topping. It was delicious!

  • They had a photo booth where the guest’s pictures came out in mini printers. Then they could paste them in their sign in book.

  • They had a video and pictures of their formals all around the venue. I love that printed so many!

  • Whitney and Cody choreographed their first dance. It was so beautiful and sweet!

  • It was so fun to see Whitney’s family again. They are so kind!

  • Their send off was fun with the sparklers and the lavender.

I’m so happy for Whitney and Cody! Congrats you guys!

Payson Temple, UT | Jenny & Brian Wedding

Jenny and Brian were married on a beautiful December day at the Payson, Utah temple. I didn’t think it would be so busy the Saturday before Christmas, but there were 2 weddings at the same time as theirs. They were the last ones to come out of those 3 and I was so glad because we could take our time with their family greeting them. Their family was so so excited when they came out. Brian had some fun cuff links on that they all wanted to check out. Jenny has 4 older brothers and most of them were from out of town so it was a fun reunion for them! I loved getting that picture of the siblings- they are so funny! Both of their families were so nice and fun. After we did family pictures, we took formals. It was my first time meeting Jenny and Brian so it was fun to get to know them. They are such a witty, funny couple. I clicked with them instantly.

Congratulations Jenny and Brian!
