Payson Temple, UT | Shayla & Jordan Wedding

Jordan and Shayla met at a singles ward while they were going to school at Dixie State University. Shayla's mom was visiting Shayla in September and told her that she should ask him out. But Shayla didn't...haha.  Eventually (in January) Jordan and Shayla met and he asked her out. They dated and it got serious pretty quick and soon enough they got engaged!

Only a few months later, they sealed the deal and became Jordan and Shayla Alexander on August 5, 2016! It was such a pretty day! The temple part of the day went so smoothly. Shayla and Jordan were the first to be sealed that day, so the temple was less crowded and cooler. Their families were so nice and cooperative while taking pics in the hot sun. After, I got to take Jordan and Shayla's pictures around the temple– my favorite part.  I was Shayla's Young Women's teacher in church so I have known her for awhile (and she's awesome), but it was my first time meeting Jordan. And can I say, Shayla picked a good one! Jordan was so stinkin adorable to her. He was always sneaking kisses and making her laugh. They are so cute together! They were both on cloud 9 and just so happy to be married!

After the temple, they had a nice, long break before the reception. Shayla's parents and family set up everything in their backyard and it was all ready to go, until it rained. And by rain, I mean it DOWNPOURED! Shayla's mom was the only one home and ran out in a panic trying to save everything. Oh I could only imagine! By the time I got there, the rain had stopped, but the men were still putting up tents over tables and decor. Everyone was helping dry off tables and chairs, setting out food, lighting candles in a hurry before people started to show up. Shayla looked just fine when I saw her but she said her mom and her had a good cry. I told them that it is good luck to have rain on your wedding day! Honestly it wasn't too terrible in my eyes. Things were wet but it dried and nothing got ruined. By the end of the reception, everything was dry and the weather stayed beautiful!  Oh and they did an amazing job decorating their back yard! It was probably one of my favorites yet! I loved the logs with the frames on them. I loved the baby's breath, candles, and the cake. I loved that they had lawn games for the kids. That was a big hit!

I took a few more pics of Shayla and Jordan in the back yard. We even took some in her little playhouse that she grew up with. We teased that it could be their first home. After, I took some more pics of the families. Then the reception started! They had a receiving line for awhile. It was so good to see old friends that I hadn't seen in awhile! I had fun taking pics of their rings too. Jordan's little sis helped me out and man, she had some great ideas!

After the line, Shayla danced with her dad. It was so sweet. They hugged the whole time and her dad always had a big smile on his face. After their dance, Jordan walked right up to Shayla and gave her a big hug and then dipped her. Then they danced their first dance. Ugh, they are so cute! After the dance, Jordan and Shayla prepared to cut their cake. I loved their idea of people placing bets on who they wanted to see get the cake smash. Of course, all the money was in the groom's jar. Jordan's little sister made sure of that. She kept putting all the money that was in Shayla's jar into Jordan's. haha. So when they cut the cake, Jordan got a good smash, but...Shayla got a good one too! It was pretty funny! Next, Shayla threw her bouquet and a cute little girl caught it. Everyone was as surprised as her. Then to end the night, the guests all lined up with confetti poppers as they ran past. They had to clean out their car a little bit before they got in because it was filled with balloons. And off they went, JUST MARRIED!

Congratulations Jordan and Shayla!
